You have a key role to play in Community Governance Reviews to ensure that local knowledge informs the consultation process
A Community Governance Review (CGR) is a review carried out by us to check whether Parish Council arrangements in an area should be changed. A CGR can consider:
- the creation, merger, alteration or abolition of Parishes
- the naming of Parishes and the style of new Parishes
- the electoral arrangements for Parishes, such as the ordinary year of election, Council size, wards, and numbers of Councillors
- the grouping or de-grouping of Parishes
Questions about CGRs including the creation, abolition or merger of a Town or Parish Council should be directed to the Democratic Services Local Area Support Team by emailing CGR@northyorks.gov.uk
