Public Health services aim to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of communities. These services include health promotion, disease prevention and health protection activities
North Yorkshire Council Public Health Team play a crucial role in delivering these services to ensure the communities health needs are met.
You can play a supportive role in the delivery of public health services within your community. There are many ways you can do this, including:
Community Engagement
- Engage with your residents to promote public health initiatives and encourage participation in health programs. This could be by providing a venue for blood pressure monitoring or setting up local walking groups
- Share information about local and national campaigns to raise awareness about important health issues, such as mental health, substance abuse, and chronic disease management
Partnership Working
- Monitor local health issues and report any concerns to us. This will ensure we can provide a timely response, appropriate intervention and ongoing support when required
- Work us and health organisations to coordinate public health efforts and share resources
